RPO code 1LE was first triggered 25 years ago, and originally intended to enhance the performance of IROC-Z in SCCA Showroom Stock road racing events. It included 11.65-inch rotors with 2-piston aluminum calipers, an aluminum driveshaft, a special baffled fuel tank, specific shock absorbers, and stiffer suspension bushings. The 1LE was a well-kept secret and very few were built.

1LE comes equipped with four-wheel antilock, four-piston disc Brembo® brakes designed to stand up to repeated high-speed stops. Red calipers add to the dramatic, track-ready appearance of 1LE.
The 1LE front splitter flaunts an aggressive appearance while helping to reduce front lift.
1LE boasts a unique matte black hood that commands attention.
The rear spoiler enhances the dominating look and aerodynamic efficiencies of 1LE.
The front and rear wheels of 1LE feature a low-gloss black finish with a 10-spoke design and are optimized to stand up to the track.
The front (27mm solid) and rear (28mm solid) stabilizer bars improve roll stiffness and helps with body control and vehicle response.
Taking a cue from 2013 Camaro ZL1, the innovative power assist system is custom tuned for the 1LE.
